Poor shooting  and critical fouls proved to be the downfall as the home standing Alice Lloyd Lady Eagles dropped a 72-53 decision to the highly regarded Kentucky Christian Lady Knights on Tuesday night.{nl}Despite shooting difficulties from both clubs, the first twenty minutes were nip and tuck. When the dust settled, KCU went into intermission with a 30-26 lead.{nl}In the second half, despite the offensive struggles, the game remained close early. ALC had some good looks that just refused to drop into the basket. {nl}However, the turning point in the second half occurred when ALC guard Bree Frazier was forced to the bench with foul trouble. The Lady Knights used this to their advantage by going on a 12-2 run. This outburst gave them a 14 point lead from which, despite their best efforts, the Lady Eagles were never able to recover.{nl}For the night, Alice Lloyd (1-0) connected on only 20-75 (26%) from the field. The only Lady Eagle to reach double digits in scoring was sophomore Gemma Gray with 15. Junior Chelsea Jarrell added 8 points and a team high 10 rebounds.{nl}For KCU (1-0), they were led by center Kristin Hecht with 19 points and guard Autumn Carter with 13.{nl}ALC returns to the hardwood on Thursday when they travel to Wise, Virginia to face The University of Virginia-Wise. Tipoff is set for 6pm.
