The Alice Lloyd College Cross Country squad opened their season on September 12th as the “Running Eagles” participated in the Gingerbread Festival 5K Race held in Hindman.{nl}Thirty-three runners left the starting line on a morning that offered comfortable running conditions.{nl}For the men, they were paced by junior Steven Call, who finished 3rd overall with a time of 20:12. He was closely followed by senior Tim Estes in a time of 20:58. That was good enough for 4th place. Freshman Matthew Moorefield completed the course in 22:52, which placed him 8th overall.{nl}On the ladies side, freshman Ashley Foster finished in 22nd place with a time of 33:18. Senior Miranda Horn crossed the line in 25th place with a time of 35:29.{nl}The next meet will occur on Saturday, September 19th. The Eagles will travel to Berea to participate in the Berea College Invitational. Scheduled start time for the race is 10 am.
