{nl}Congratulations to Mrs. Amanda Compton Clark for recently being named Dean of The June Buchanan School.  Amanda graduated from South Floyd High School in 1998 and pursued a high school English Education degree at Alice Lloyd College.  Upon completion of this degree in 2002, Amanda began her teaching career at The June Buchanan School.  She has taught all of the high school English classes at JBS for the past seven years, as well as serving as academic team coach and class sponsor.  In addition to her duties at The June Buchanan School, she also is an active member of Caney Baptist Church.{nl}Recently, Amanda received her Master’s degree in School Administration from Morehead State University.  During the 2008-2009 school year, Amanda was selected to serve as Assistant Dean to Dr. Marylee James.  Her selection as the new Dean was made official prior to the end of the school year.  Her years of teaching at JBS, coupled with her administrative knowledge, make her a perfect candidate to fill this important position.{nl}Amanda is married to Doug Clark, a 2003 graduate of Alice Lloyd College.  Doug earned his degree in Business Administration and is now employed by Clean-Gas.  The Clarks have two children, Austin and Addie, and the family resides in Pippa Passes.
