Fall Orientation also affords new students an opportunity to become acquainted with fellow classmates in the common venture of learning.
Freshman Transition Program (Bridge Program)
In order to promote a successful passage from the high school environment to college lifestyle, the ALC campus community has designed and implemented the ALC Freshman Transition Program, better known as the "Bridge to Success at ALC." The Bridge Program is staffed by volunteer faculty and staff who are dedicated to serving the social and academic needs of the entering freshmen. The staff conducts workshops and discussions on topics such as time management, study skills, money management, dealing with roommates, effective use of support systems, and how to register and select a major. Students who elect to complete this course of study (and do so successfully) receive one hour of institutional credit and are eligible for the Leadership Certificate when they become upperclassmen.
