Technology
The June Buchanan School exposes its students to a variety of technology. Students have access to our school’s computer lab which houses over twenty computers. Furthermore, students may be able to use additional computer labs on the campus of Alice Lloyd College with special permission.
In addition to access to our computer lab, students are also exposed to various forms of technology in individual classrooms. Thanks to our PTO, each classroom at The June Buchanan School has a state-of-the-art Mimio Board which allows teachers to create interactive lessons, thereby broadening students’ exposure to technology. We are in the process of placing document cameras in each classroom as well.
However, technology at The June Buchanan School is measured by more than just the number of computers or Mimio Boards we have. We pride ourselves on ensuring that each student can use various forms of technology. Teachers try to incorporate technology into daily lessons, as well as have students create multimedia presentations and projects. We currently offer Technology Enrichment classes for grades K-8 and Computer Literacy classes for our high school students.
