PTO
The June Buchanan School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) coordinates events which provide funds to support our students. Money raised by the PTO has been used to cover technology expenses, to provide teachers with additional classroom supplies and to help offset the cost of various JBS field trips.

PTO EVENTS
Back to School Dinner
This celebration provides students and parents with the opportunity to meet with teachers and other June Buchanan families. This time of fellowship allows us to show support for our school for the upcoming new year. This is an especially good opportunity for new members of The June Buchanan School family to become acquainted with others associated with the school.
Fall Festival
The annual Fall Festival is the PTO's biggest event of the year. This event takes months of planning and brings together numerous parents, students, and community members. Some of the night's activities include: silent auction, live auction, haunted house, and games (examples: Bingo, Duck Pond, Cake Walk, Go-Fish, etc.) All proceeds from this event are used to provide additional support to The June Buchanan School.
Pink Day
The JBS PTO organized and held an October Pink Day to raise awareness and money for cancer research. The JBS Crusader Middle School Basketball Team hosted a tournament at the Grady Nutt Athletic Center at Alice Lloyd College to show how important their "moms" are to them as they played in their "pink" uniforms. The JBS Crusaders held a short ceremony between tournament games to state why they were playing that day. During Pink Day, a community of grandparents, parents, teachers, students, and visitors came together to raise money through admission, concessions, t-shirts and games such as the corn hole tournament, cake walk and pumpkin painting. The PTO raised nearly $2,500 and donated the money to the Knott County Cancer Coalition.
