During the recent Middle Grade District Governor’s Cup Competition, the June Buchanan Crusaders won big. This victory marks the second consecutive year that the Crusaders have won the District competition
Jackie Henderson, a senior at The June Buchanan School, recently scored her 1,000th point made during her high school basketball career in the Lady Crusaders’ opening game versus Riverside Christian on December 2nd, 2013.
The June Buchanan School is proud to announce that one of its graduating seniors, Channing Everidge, has been accepted to William & Mary, one of only eight schools in the nation designated a "Public Ivy" institution.
The June Buchanan School went out of their way this year during the Fall Festival to raise awareness and proceeds for the Corner Haven Crisis Center and The Women’s Shelter of Hazard, Kentucky. The entire school worked together for the benefit of the community, and in turn, raised about 4,000 cans through a PTO-sponsored Food Drive.
After completing a unit on William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, the freshman class at The June Buchanan School was challenged to create models of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. By constructing these models, students gained a greater understanding of how the theater of Shakespeare’s day differs from our own.
The June Buchanan School PTO is sponsoring a fall fundraising event featuring Dr. Carl Hurley, a world renowned comedian known as "America's Funniest Professor." The event will be held in the Campbell Arts Center on the campus of Alice Lloyd College and The June Buchanan School on Friday, October 4th, at 8 PM.
