LYKENS, MULLINS NAMED NAIA ALL-AMERICAN SCHOLAR ATHLETES
Whitney Lykens and Eric Mullins, basketball players at Alice Lloyd College were recently named as NAIA All-American Scholar Athletes. In addition to being good athletes, recipients must maintain a minimum cumulative G.P.A of 3.5.
BECKY THOMAS NAMED THIRD TEAM ALL-AMERICAN
Becky Thomas, of the Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles basketball team, was recently named as a Third Team All-American by the NAIA. Becky is a Freshman from Allen Central High School. She scored 447 points and averaged 16 points and 7.7 rebounds on the year. She also had 45 blocked shots. She shot 57% from the field and 65% from the free throw line on the year. Becky was also named NAIA National Player of the Week during the season. The Lady Eagles, coached by David Adams, won the KIAC regular season championship and they were only one win away from a trip to the National Tournament; however, they lost in the finals of the Conference tournament to Berea by the score of 88-85.
This was quite an accomplishment for a Freshman. Of the ten players named to each of the First, Second and Third teams, Becky was the only Freshman of the entire group.
Here is our list of Alice Lloyd College
