ALC BASEBALL TEAM SIGNS KEY RECRUITS

 

Alice Lloyd College baseball coach Scott Cornett recently announced the signings of several key recruits for the 2007-08 baseball season.  The following is a list of the recruits who have signed and a brief overview each player:

 

Gavin Wells--Infielder from Leslie County High School.  He is a very strong hitter.

 

Jarod Meehan--Infielder/Outfielder from Hazard High School.  Outstanding athlete who is very versatile.

 

Josh Toney--Pitcher/Infielder from Wayne County High School (WV).  He has a very strong arm.

 

Brandon Bowers--Pitcher/Infielder from Tennessee High (Bristol, TN).  Very talented and very versatile.

 

Will Leonard--Infielder from Sullivan Central High School (Kingsport, TN).  He is big and strong with good hands.

 

Michael Kelly--Pitcher/Outfielder from Madison Central High School in Richmond, Ky.  Michael hit over .350 on the year with 7

home runs.

 

Davey Pugh--Pitcher, also from Madison Central.  He is a tall, lanky right hander with a good fastball and excellent control.

 

Stephen Winkler—Pitcher, also from Madison Central.   A big, strong righthander with a mid-80’s fastball and a good curve ball.

 

Tyler Sewell--Shortstop from Estill County High School.  He is a smooth fielder with quick hands and a short compact swing.  He led Estill County in several offensive and defensive categories on the year.

 

Kenneth Todd--Pitcher/Firstbaseman from Sheldon Clark High School.  He is a big body who swings the bat well and has a good arm.

 

Gerald Branham--Pitcher/Infielder from Cumberland Gap High School.  He hits well to all fields.  He has a fastball in the low 80’s and a good curve ball.

 

Taylor Sewell--Shortstop/Outfielder from Sullivan South High School (Kingsport, TN).  He is an excellent defensive player with a strong arm and good speed,

 

Josh Bedingfield--Pitcher, also from Sullivan South.  He is a submarine type pitcher whose delivery results in keeping hitters off balance and getting ground balls.

 

Coach Cornett believes that this is one of the best recruiting classes that he has had at ALC.  Last year’s class was also very good, so the future is looking very promising for the Eagles.

The Eagles closed out their season last week in the KIAC Tournament at Berea.  The Eagles began the tournament with a first round win against Berea, winning 17-6.  The Eagles led 15-0 after 5 innings.  Matthew Toney got the Eagles off to a good start with a first inning grand slam home run.  He finished with 2 hits and 5 RBI’s.  Lamar Williams had 3 hits and an RBI.  C.J. Lynn (2 hits, 1 RBI), Tyler Turner (1 hit, 3 RBI’s), Adam Adkins (2 hits), Robert Smith (2 hits) and Kevin Slone (2 RBI’s) also had productive games.  The Eagles banged out 16 hits in the game. Timmy Taylor was the starting and winning pitcher in the game.

 The Eagles faced top ranked Spalding University in the second round, losing 12-1.  Trenton Vanhoose picked up 2 of the Eagles 6 hits in the game and Turner had the team’s only RBI.  Travis Slusher was the starting and losing pitcher in the game

The Eagles then faced Berea again in the loser’s bracket of the double elimination tournament.  Berea jumped out early in the game, scoring 7 runs in the second inning.  The Eagles fought back and tied the game in the 9th inning.  They scored 3 runs in the bottom of the ninth to tie the score at 9.  However, Berea won 11-9 with 2 runs in the 11th inning.  Justin Woodard was the starting pitcher.  Kevin Davidson pitched eight and a third innings and got the loss.  Spalding University beat Brescia University in the finals.

EAGLES BASEBALL PLAYERS WIN HONORS

Williams Runner-up for KIAC Player of the Year, Potter KIAC Rookie of the Year

Several members of the Eagles baseball team won honors last week at the KIAC baseball tournament.  Lamar Williams (OF, P) and Kyle Potter (OF, P) were named KIAC 1st Team All-Conference.  Williams was also runner-up for KIAC Player-of-the-Year.  Potter was named KIAC Rookie-of-the-Year.  Catcher C.J. Lynn, second baseman Justin Jacobs , third baseman Tyler Turner and designated hitter Matthew Toney were named KIAC 2nd Team All Conference.  Potter, Lynn, Jacobs, Turner, Robert Smith, Adam Adkins, Kevin Davidson, and Jason Bowling were named to the KIAC All Freshman Team.  Jacobs was also named to the KIAC Gold Glove Team

The final week of the regular season ended last week.  The Eagles finished on a positive note, winning two of three games against Berea College over the weekend.  In the first game of a doubleheader on Friday, the Eagles lost a tough game by the score of 2-1.  Timmy Taylor pitched a very good game, giving up only 4 hits in the loss.  Kyle Potter led the way with 3 hits, followed by Tyler Turner and C.J. Lynn with 2 hits each.  Adam Adkins had the only RBI.  The Eagles fought back to win the second game, 14-6.  Travis Slusher was the starting and winning pitcher.  The Eagles pounded out 19 hits, led by Potter and Justin Jacobs with 4 hits each.  Lamar Williams, J.T. Coleman, Jason Bowling, and Lynn each had 2 hits.  Williams had 3 RBI’s.

The Eagles won the final game of the series on Sunday afternoon, 14-6.  It was also Senior Day, as each senior was presented with a jersey enclosed in a case by Coach Cornett.  Berea jumped out early, scoring 5 runs in the top of the 3rd inning, but ALC scored 8 runs in the bottom of the same inning and 5 more in the bottom of the 5th to secure the win.  Jason Bufka was the winning in relief.  The Eagles had 16 hits in the game, 3 each by Potter, Kevin Slone, and Turner.  Slone and Potter also had 3 RBI’s each.  Williams had a hit and 2 RBI’s.

This week the Eagles will play in the first round of the double elimination KIAC Conference Tournament at Berea.  They will play Berea at 6:00 on Wednesday evening.

 

 

April 16, 2007

The  Eagles played only three games last week because of adverse weather conditions.  On Thursday, they lost to UV@Wise 12-1. Tyler Turner was the starting and losing pitcher.  They were limited to only 4 hits, one each by Trenton VanHoose, Kevin Slone, C.J. Lynn and Carlos Armenteros.  Lynn had the only RBI.

On Friday, they traveled to Louisville for a KIAC Conference series with Spalding University.  They played on doubleheader, losing 10-4 and 9-0.  In the first game, Kevin Davidson was the starting and losing pitcher.  Lamar Williams, Kyle Potter and Matthew Toney collected two hits each.  Potter also had 3 RBI’s in the game.  Justin Jacobs, VanHoose and Lynn also had hits in the game.  In the second game, the Eagles managed only 4 hits, 2 each by Potter and Armenteros.  Robert Smith was the starting and losing pitcher.

The third game against Spalding on Saturday and Sunday games against Oakland City (IN) were postponed.  This week, the Eagles are scheduled to travel to Bluefield College (VA) on Wednesday.  The will host Pikeville College on Thursday at 2:00.  They will travel to New Albany, IN for a three game Conference series against Indiana University-Southeast on Friday and Saturday.

The Eagles began play last Tuesday with a game against NCAA Div. I Morehead State University.  They fell behind in the first inning, 8-2 and could not recover in route to a 24-5 loss.  The Eagles picked up 6 hits in the game, with Kyle Potter getting 2 hits.  Jeremy Shepherd had a hit and 2 RBI’s.  Lamar Williams, Trenton VanHoose, and Robert Smith picked up the other hits. Potter was also the starting and losing pitcher. 

The Eagles came back on Thursday with a win (10-0) in the first game of a doubleheader against KY State University.  Robert Smith got the win as he scattered 3 hits and had 7 strikeouts in the game.  Ronnie Johnson, Kevin Slone, C.J. Lynn and VanHoose each had 2 hits in the game.  Tyler Turner and Adam Adkins had a hit and 3 RBI’s each.  J.T Coleman had a hit and 2 RBI’s.   In the second game, KSU scored 5 runs in the first inning in route to a 7-4 win.  Timmy Taylor went the distance (7 Innings) in the loss.  Matthew Toney had 3 hits and an RBI and Justin Jacobs had 2 hits in the game. 

The Eagles traveled to number 8 ranked Tennessee Wesleyan on Friday for a doubleheader.  They lost both games, 8-1 and 9-2.  In the first game, Pitcher Jason Bufka took the loss.  Williams, Lynn, Turner and Smith had the only hits for the Eagles.  In the second game, Williams had 2 hits.   Potter, Turner, and Smith each had hits.  VanHoose had a home run.  Potter also picked up an RBI in the game.  Nathan Reynolds was the losing pitcher.

This week the Eagles are scheduled to playa at UV@Wise on Thursday at 1:00.  They will be on the road on Friday and Saturday with a three game Conference series at Spalding University.  On Sunday, they are scheduled to play at Oakland City (IN).

 

April 4, 2007

The Eagles began last week by traveling to Williamsburg to play the University of the Cumberlands.  They had 13 hits but only 3 runs in an 18-3 loss.  Lamar Williams and Kyle Potter had 3 hits each and C.J. Lynn and Adam Adkins had 2 hits each.  Travis Slusher was the losing pitcher.

The Eagles traveled to Chattanooga, TN on Thursday to play Tennessee Temple.  Both games of the doubleheader went into extra innings with the Eagles losing 6-5 in 9 innings and 7-6 in 8 innings.  Williams,  Lynn, Kevin Slone, and Trenton VanHoose had 2 hits each in the first game.  VanHoose and Carlos Armenterous had home runs in the game.  Williams was the losing pitcher.  In the second game, Williams and Ronnie Johnson had 2 hits each.  Williams also had 2 RBI’s.  Kevin Davidson was the losing pitcher.

The Eagles hosted Brescia University in a 3-game KIAC Conference series on Friday and Saturday.  In the single game on Friday, Brescia came away with a 9-8 win in 10 innings.  Williams, Slone, VanHoose, and Lynn had 2 hits each in the game.  Tyler Turner had a hit and 3 RBI’s.  Matthew Toney also had a hit and 2 RBI’s.  Timmy Taylor was the losing pitcher.

In the doubleheader on Saturday, Brescia won the first game, 11-3.  Armenterous had a hit and 2 RBI’s and Turner had a hit and an RBI.  Travis Slusher was the losing pitcher.  The Eagles fought back to win the second game, 10-5.  Kevin Davidson was the winning pitcher.  The Eagles had 13 hits to go along with the 10 runs.  Adkins had 3 hits and an RBI.  Johnson had 2 hits and 2 RBI’s.  Slone had 2 hits and an RBI.  Turner had an RBI to go along with his 2 hits.  

This week, the Eagles traveled to Morehead State University on Tuesday.  They will host Kentucky State University on Thursday at 2:00.  On Friday, they will travel to Tennessee Wesleyan (Athens,TN) for a doubleheader that will begin at 2:00.

The Eagles hosted Union College, one of the top teams in the NAIA, Sunday afternoon, losing 18-2.  Justin Woodard was the starting and losing pitcher for the Eagles.   The Eagles scored their two runs on nine hits.  Kyle Potter had 3 hits and an RBI.  Carlos Armenteros had a solo home run.  Ronnie Johnson had 2 hits. Lamar Williams, Matthew Toney and C.J. Lynn also had hits in the game.

This week, the Eagles will play doubleheaders at the University of the Cumberlands (Tuesday) and Tennessee Temple (Thursday) beginning at 2:00.  They will host Brescia University on Friday and Saturday at 1:00.  They will host Southwest Virginia on Sunday afternoon at 1:00.

The Eagles played five games during Spring Break week.  On Tuesday, they traveled to West Virginia Tech for a doubleheader. They lost two close games, 1-0 in 10 innings and 5-4.  In the first game, the Eagles managed only 5 hits.  Lamar Williams had two hits and Kyle Potter, Matthew Toney and Adam Adkins each had one hit.  Justin Woodard went 8 innings, giving up only one hit.  Robert Smith was the losing pitcher.  Travis Slusher was the starting and losing pitcher in the second game.  The Eagles had eight hits, including two each by Potter, Kevin Slone and Robert Smith.  Toney, Smith and Tyler Turner each had an RBI.

The Eagles hosted Shawnee State (OH) on Thursday.  They lost another close game by the score of 5-4.  Williams had an RBI and three of the teams 9 hits.  Potter, Smith and Trenton VanHoose also had RBI’s.  Jason Bufka was the losing pitcher. 

On Sunday, the Eagles hosted West Virginia Tech in a doubleheader.  Tech won the first game, 10-6 and the Eagles came back to win the second game, 4-3.  Williams pitched a complete game and was the winning pitcher.  Turner, Adkins and C.J. Lynn each had two hits.  Ronnie Johnson, Lynn, Adkins and Slone each had an RBI.  In the first game, Tyler Turner was the losing pitcher.  Williams had four hits, including a double.  Toney and Carlos Armenterous each had two hits. 

This week, the Eagles will be at home on Tuesday (DH vs UV@Wise @ 1:00) and Sunday (DH vs Union @ 1:00).

EAGLES PICK UP THREE WINS

The Alice Lloyd College Eagles baseball team picked up three wins last week.  On Saturday afternoon they won a doubleheader against Southwest Virginia Community College by the scores of 14-0 and 15-1.  Justin Woodard was the winning pitcher in the first game.  Justin Jacobs had 4 hits, including three triples.  Kyle Potter had three hits and 5 RBI’s, including a home run.  Adam Adkins had two hits and 4 RBI’s.  Lamar Williams, Matthew Toney, Trenton VanHoose, and Robert Smith also picked up hits in the game as the Eagles pounded out 16 hits.  In the second game, the Eagles continued to hit well, picking up 17 hits.  J.T Coleman had a hit and 3 RBI’s.  Kevin Davidson, C.J. Lynn, and Derrick Pollard had two hits and two RBI’s each.  Travis Slusher was the winning pitcher.

On Sunday afternoon, the Eagles split a doubleheader with New River Community College.  They won the first game, 12-8.  Jason Bufka was the winning pitcher.  VanHoose picked up three hits and three RBI’s, followed by Potter and Ronnie Johnson with two hits each.  Potter also had two RBI’s.  The Eagles lost the second game, 7-6, in extra innings.  Williams had two hits and two RBI’s.  Coleman also had two hits in the game.  Tyler Turner was the losing pitcher in the game.

Earlier in the week, the Eagles lost a doubleheader at home to Taylor University, 13-7 and 5-2.  In the first game, Williams, Toney, VanHoose and Lynn had two hits each.  VanHoose also picked up three RBI’s.  Bufka was the winning pitcher in the game.  In the second game, the Eagles got only 7 hits, led by Toney with two.  Kevin Davidson was the losing pitcher.

This week, the Eagles will play at West Virginia Tech on Tuesday.  They will be at home on Thursday (Shawnee State), Saturday (Williams Baptist) and Sunday (West Virginia Tech).  All game times are scheduled for 1:00.

EAGLES BASEBALL CONTINUES IN THE COLD AND SNOW

The Alice Lloyd College Eagles baseball team continued early season play last weekend as they hosted Taylor University (IN) and Mt. Saint Joseph (OH).  They were supposed to play Taylor on Friday, but the game was postponed until Monday because of rain.  On Saturday, they lost a doubleheader to Taylor, 8-4 and 5-3.  In the first game, Justin Woodard was the starting and losing pitcher for the Eagles.  Robert Smith had and single and a triple.  Matthew Toney had a 2 RBI single and Lamar Williams had a single.  In the second game, Travis Slusher was the starting and losing pitcher. 

On Sunday afternoon, after snow was removed from the field, the Eagles hosted Mt. Saint Joseph on a cold and windy day.  They lost both games, 9-4 and 11-2.  Lamar Williams was the starting and losing pitcher.  Smith had two more hits.   Chase Cornett had an RBI single.  Tyler Turner had a single and Carlos Armenterous had an RBI double.  In the second game, Williams had a single and 2 RBI’s.  Caleb Hall also picked up a hit.  Kyle Potter was the starting and losing pitcher. 

This week, the Eagles had makeup games with Taylor University on Monday.  This weekend, they will travel to Southwest Virginia Community College for doubleheaders on Saturday and Sunday.

ALC BASEBALL PLAYERS WIN KIAC HONORS

Several Alice Lloyd College Eagles baseball players received KIAC honors last week.  Timmy Taylor (Bluff City, TN) and Justin Woodard (Lee City, VA) were selected as Co-Pitchers of the Week.  Catcher Matthew Toney (Wayne, WV) was named Player of the Week. 

This week, the Eagles will host Taylor University (IN) on Friday (DH @ 1:00) and Saturday (DH @ 1:00).  On Sunday, they will host Mount Saint Joseph (OH) in another doubleheader @ 1:00.

EAGLES BASEBALL TEAM SPLITS WITH MONTREAT

The Alice Lloyd College Eagles baseball team split a doubleheader with Montreat College (NC) last weekend in their only two games of the week.  They won the first game, 5-4.  Timmy Taylor was the winning pitcher.  He pitched three innings, giving up only one run.  He also had 3 strikeouts.  Matthew Toney had 3 hits, including a homerun and 3 RBI’s.  Adam Adkins had a hit and 2 RBI’s.  Lamar Williams, Kevin Slone, Trenton VanHoose, and Robert Smith also had hits in the game.

Montreat came back to win the second game, 9-4.   Jason Bufka was the losing pitcher.  Toney and Carlos Armenterous each had 2 hits.  Toney also had another home run and 2 more RBI’s.  Williams, VanHoose, Smith, Tyler Turner, C.J. Lynn, Kyle Potter, and Kevin Davidson also picked up hits in the game.

ALC BASEBALL SEASON BEGINS

Eagles Open Season at Union College

The Alice Lloyd College Eagles baseball season is now officially under way.  The Eagles traveled to Barbourville, KY on Sunday afternoon for their first game of the year.  Coach Scott Cornett began his eighteenth season as Head Coach.  Lamar Williams was the starting pitcher for the Eagles.  The team collected eight hits on the day; however, Union came away with a 16-3 win.  The season will continue next weekend with a road trip to Montreat College (NC).

EAGLES PLAY WELL IN KIAC TOURNAMENT

The Alice Lloyd College Eagles baseball team advanced to the semi-finals of the KIAC Baseball Tournament in Owensboro last week.  They began the double elimination tournament on Wednesday with a 4-2 win over Bethel College (TN).  Jason Smith was the winning pitcher and Patrick Adkins picked up a save.  Trenton VanHoose had three hits and Lamar Williams had two hits in the game.  On Thursday afternoon, the Eagles advanced to play IU-Southeast.  They lost a very  tough game by the score of 4-3.  Trent Waymire was the losing pitcher in the game.  Ronnie Johnson had two hits.On Thursday night, the Eagles bounced back to beat Mid-Continent University 4-2.  Jordan Kidd was the starting pitcher and pitched well.  Jason Bufka picked up the win in relief.  Clay Christian had two hits in the game.In the Friday morning semi-finals, the Eagles lost to Brescia University 5-4.  Timmy Taylor was the losing pitcher.  Ronnie Johnson had three hits and 2 RBI’s in the game and Lamar Williams had two hits and scored three runs.  Spalding University won the tournament.  They beat IU-Southeast in the finals.  Alice  Lloyd College senior pitcher Jason Smith was named KIAC Pitcher of the week for the week of April 24-30 for his efforts in a win over Berea College.  He had a no hitter for five innings in route to a fine performance that included eight strikeouts and he allowed only four hits.  Jason is from Manchester, Ky.  He attended Clay County High School.

The Alice Lloyd College Eagles baseball team closed out its regular season last week, winning three of five games.  On Friday and Saturday, they traveled to Berea College for a three game KIAC Conference series.  The Eagles won the single game on Friday by the score of 4-0.  Jason Smith was the winning pitcher.  Carlos Armenterous had two hits and two RBI’s in the game. The Eagles lost the first game of the doubleheader on Saturday by the score of 2-1. Trent Waymire pitched very well in a losing cause.  The Eagles fought back to win the second game by the score of 13-6 after trailing early by the score of 5-0.  Jason Bufka was the winning pitcher.  Clay Christian had three hits.  Trenton Vanhoose, Carlos Armenterous, and Adam Blevins each had two hits.  The Eagles collected 19 hits in the game.On Sunday, the Eagles hosted Centre College on Senior Day.  Centre won the first game 11-5.  Jonathan Saylor was the losing pitcher.  In the second game, the Eagles won 5-1.  Jordan Kidd was the winning pitcher.  Vanhoose and Christian had two hits each.  Ronnie Johnson had four hits in the game.  The seniors were presented with their game jersey in a case.  This year’s seniors are Matt Frazier, Adam Blevins, Robert Fitzpatrick, Jonathan Saylor, David Hatfield, and Jason Smith. The KIAC double-elimination Conference Tournament will begin on Wednesday at Owensboro, KY.  Game times and opponents were unknown at press time.

 

April  24, 2006

The Eagles hosted Pikeville College last Tuesday in a single game.  The game went 11 innings and Pikeville came away with a 5-3 win.  Patrick Adkins was the losing pitcher in the game.  On Wednesday, the Eagles traveled to MT. St. Joseph (OH) and lost another close game by the  score of 4-3.  Jordan Kidd was the losing pitcher in the game.  Over the weekend, the Eagles played at Bethel College (TN) in a three game KIAC Conference series.  Bethel won all three games, 13-8, 10-0, and 13-4.  This week, the Eagles are scheduled to travel to The Cumberlands on Wednesday for a single game at 4:00.  They will close out their regular season Conference schedule with a three game series at Berea on Friday and Saturday.  On Sunday afternoon, they will host Centre College in a 1:00 Doubleheader.  This is also Senior Day.  The KIAC Conference Baseball Tournament will begin next Tuesday, May 2 at Owensboro, KY.  It will run through Saturday, May 6.  Pairings were unavailable at press time.

The Alice Lloyd College Eagles baseball team began last week in good fashion by winning a doubleheader at Kentucky State University.  They won the first game, 13-2.  Jonathan Saylor pitched a complete game for the win.  Lamar Williams had three doubles and Kevin Slone had two hits.  The Eagles won the second game, 12-2.  Travis Slusher pitched another complete game for the Eagles in picking up the win.  Trenton VanHoose had a three run Home Run.  Lamar Williams had two more hits and Clay Christian also had two hits in the game. The Eagles hosted IU-Southeast in a three game series over the weekend.  IU-Southeast won the first game on Friday by the score of 7-3.  Trent Waymire was the losing pitcher; however, he pitched very well and had a 3-0 lead in the 5th inning.  On Saturday, Jason Smith pitched very well in picking up a 5-2 win for the Eagles.  Adam Blevins, Clay Christian and Kevin Slone each had two hits in the game.  The Eagles lost the second game of the doubleheader, 7-2.  The game was scoreless through five innings.  Justin Woodard was the losing pitcher in the game.This week, the Eagles are scheduled to host Pikeville College in a single game on Tuesday at 4:00.  They travel to Mount St. Joseph College (OH) for a single game on Wednesday.  They will travel to Bethel College (TN) for a three game Conference series on Friday and Saturday.  They will host Centre College on Sunday at 1:00.  This will also be Senior Day

Baseball continues to be plagued by rain and bad weather this Spring. Last week, the Eagles only got to play five of their scheduled games.  On Wednesday, they traveled to Pikeville College.  Both pitching and hitting were missing in a 15-1 loss to the Bears.  The Eagles hosted UV@Wise in a doubleheader on Thursday.  They lost the first game, 9-3.  Tim Taylor was the losing pitcher.  They fought back to win the second game 9-6.  Justin Woodard was the winning pitcher.  Matthew Toney and Trenton VanHoose had home runs in the game; Kevin Slone had three hits and four RBI's, and Lamar Williams had two hits and four stolen bases.  On Friday, the Eagles hosted Spalding University in a KIAC conference series.  Spalding won the first game, 7-1.  The Eagles only trailed 3-1, going into the last inning. Jason Smith was the losing pitcher.  The second game was suspended after five innings.  Neither team had scored.  Trent Waymire had a no-hitter going when the game was suspended because of the stormy weather. The Saturday game against Spalding and Sunday games against SWVCC were cancelled because of rain.his week, the Eagles were scheduled to play at Kentucky State University on Monday.  They will host KIAC opponent IU-Southeast in a three game series on Friday and Saturday.

The Alice Lloyd College Eagles won three of five games.  On Wednesday, they hosted the College of the Cumberlands, losing 13-3 to a very good Cumberlands team.  Travis Slusher was the losing pitcher.  On Friday, they traveled to Brevard College (NC) for a doubleheader.  Brevard won both games.  The final scores were 4-1 and 7-1.  Jason Smith was the losing pitcher in the first game and Jonathan Saylor was the losing pitcher in the second game.On Sunday, the Eagles hosted SWVCC in a doubleheader.  They won both games.  In the first game, Trent Waymire pitched a one hitter in a 4-0 win.  The Eagles really hit the ball well in the second game, winning 22-0.  Jason Bufka pitched a complete game three hitter.  Trent VanHoose had three hits, including a Home Run and three RBI’s.  Clay Christian had three hits.  Matt Frazier and Chase Cornett each had two hits. This week, the Eagles are scheduled to host UV@Wise on Tuesday at 1:00.  They will play at Pikeville on Wednesday at 4:00.  They will play a three game KIAC Conference series against Spalding University this weekend at home.  A single game is scheduled for Friday at 3:00 and a doubleheader is scheduled for Saturday at 1:00.  They close out the week with games at home against SWVCC on Sunday at 1:00.
