Alice Lloyd College offers various alumni events throughout the year. These activities range from alumni board meetings and banquets to the Office of Alumni Relation’s signature social event, our Appalachia Day Homecoming.
We hope you will join us for upcoming local and regional events!
Alumna and Alumnus of the Year Banquet
This special event provides the College an opportunity to honor two of its outstanding alumni and celebrate their lives of service and leadership. This year, Bessie Conley Draughn (Class of 1948) and Ray Slone (Class of 1953) were honored on September 20th. This is the seventeenth year during which the College has recognized two alumni in this way.
Appalachia Day Homecoming
Our Appalachia Day Homecoming event is typically held on the second Saturday in October each year. The annual Alumni Association Meeting is held in conjunction with the Appalachia Day Homecoming. The meeting takes place at 1 PM in the Ralph Edwards Auditorium. There is also an induction ceremony for new members of the ALC Athletics Hall of Fame at halftime of the ALC Lady Eagles versus Alumni basketball game.

The Office of Alumni Relations hosts a Graduates Celebration each year to honor seniors who will be graduating from the College in December and May. This year’s celebration will be held on Tuesday, December 3rd. This will provide an opportunity to encourage these upcoming graduates to remain connected to the College.
Ohio Alumni Meeting & Luncheon
The annual meeting of the Ohio Alumni Chapter will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 1 PM in Monroe, Ohio. The venue for the meeting is Sylvia’s Kitchen and Restaurant. Tentative plans include a performance by the Voices of Appalachia.
Spring Alumni Board Meeting
This year’s Spring Alumni Board Meeting is set for April 5, 2014 at 11 AM in Cushing Hall on the campus of Alice Lloyd College.
Spring Alumni Banquet @ Jenny Wiley State Park
This annual alumni banquet is hosted by Alice Lloyd College each spring at Jenny Wiley State Park. This year, the Office of Alumni Relations invited not only alumni from Floyd County, but those from Pike and Johnson counties, as well. The next Spring Alumni Banquet has been scheduled for April 11, 2014 at 6 PM. Highlights of the event usually include a special address from President Stepp and a performance by the Voices of Appalachia.
