Alice Lloyd College

International Students

Thank you for your interest in Alice Lloyd College. Are you looking for a quality and affordable U.S. education? If so, Alice Lloyd College could be right for you!

ALC is committed to seeing that international students have an enriching educational experience. To that end, we will gladly consider international student applications.

ALC requires students to have a minimum of 17 on the ACT or 1210 on the SAT, as well as a 2.25 core GPA from high school. International students must also submit their TOEFL score and a certificate of finance for evaluation by the Director of Admissions. The certificate of finance must also be supported by a bank statement. In order to participate in the Student Work Program, all international students must have an F1 VISA and prior to enrollment must obtain a US-issued Social Security Number. This can be researched at www.sss.gov, or it can be obtained at a local Social Security Office upon arrival in the United States.

A limited number of international students are admitted to Alice Lloyd College; ALC is authorized under federal law to enroll non-immigrant, alien students. Students from other countries should submit the International Student Admissions Packet (pdf — UPDATED) for evaluation by the Director of Admissions no later than June 1st for enrollment in the Fall semester and no later than November 1st for the Spring semester.

A $3500 (US) deposit must be submitted prior to issuance of the SEVIS I-20 to assure you have access to money in case of emergency. This deposit, plus interest, is refunded to the student at the end of your college career, providing you do not owe the College. International students are not eligible for the ALC Scholarship, which is the tuition guarantee scholarship. The only financial aid available to international students is the money earned from work-study performed throughout the semester. Usually, you will work 160 hours per semester, earning approximately $1160, which is put towards your tuition amount.

You can find additional information on financial aid available to international students at these websites:

In the International Admissions Packet, you will find a checklist of items that must be submitted by either June 1st or November 1st.

For the current year’s precise amounts for tuition, room/board and matriculation, please contact our Financial Aid Department at (606)-368-6059. This amount must be supported by the Certification of Finances, which is found in the International Admissions Packet.
