Alice Lloyd College

How to Apply

Welcome to the Admissions Office at Alice Lloyd College, a place where we work to fulfill the College’s mission of finding and educating leaders for Appalachia. We’re glad that you’re considering joining our Eagles family! Should you choose to apply, we will be here to serve you along the way. We will do everything we can to help make the transition to college a smooth one for you, to answer all of your questions, and to guide you through the exciting process of becoming a part of ALC’s unique history and tradition.

Admission to Alice Lloyd College is highly competitive. ALC is one of the most selective colleges in the country, admitting only 7.3% of applicants. There are a limited number of spaces available in each entering class, so it is imperative that you submit your application by July 1st (for the fall semester) or November 1st (for the spring semester). We strongly advise you to begin the admissions process as early as you can in order to avoid waiting lists.

The first step is to complete the online application:

Online Application

International student applicants undergo a separate admission process. Please click here for more instructions.

If you are a U.S. citizen and you’d rather submit your application by mail, click here (pdf) to download a printable application form. Mail the completed form to:

Alice Lloyd College
Office of Admissions
100 Purpose Road
Pippa Passes, KY 41844

In order to complete the admission process, you will also need to submit the following:

  • your high school transcript
  • college transcript (if you have taken any college classes)
  • and the results of your ACT or SAT

The Admissions Director will evaluate these materials to determine if you meet academic requirements. After the items have been reviewed, you will be notified about your admissions status by mail. Once you have been conditionally accepted, you will need to contact the Admissions Office to schedule an interview with the Director of Admissions as soon as possible.

We also invite you to explore the site and discover why Alice Lloyd College is the right choice for you.

Alice Lloyd College has an excellent financial aid and scholarship program. Qualifying students from our 108-county service area receive our Appalachian Leaders College (ALC) Scholarship, which covers the cost of tuition.  In addition, other scholarships, grants, and financial aid opportunities may be available to apply toward other costs.

You will also need to complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Be sure to list ALC (housing code 001951) on your FAFSA so that we can electronically obtain the data we need to award any potential financial aid.

We appreciate your interest in Alice Lloyd College. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us toll free at 1-888-280-4252 ext. 6036 or via e-mail at kathyfaine@alc.edu. We look forward to receiving your information and wish you success in your academic and career goals!
