Prestonsburg, KY: The 2019 Alice Lloyd College Golf season came to an end over the weekend as the Eagles participated in the University of Pikeville Spring Invitational on April 6th and 7th at Stonecrest Golf Course in Prestonsburg, KY.

The weather was unseasonably warm and offered some of the best conditions of the entire year.

For the weekend, five teams and 33 golfers competed in the men’s tournament. For the event, the Eagle golfers shot 331 both rounds to finish at 662, good for 4th of 5 teams.

For the event, Thomas More University won the tournament shooting 291/297 for a 588 to earn an 11 stroke win. Kyle Alexander led his squad as he had a first-place overall finish.

Alice Lloyd was paced by Isaiah Penley, who shot 83/79 for 162, good for 17th place, which tied teammate Brit Bowling, who shot 78/84.

 Aaron Minor shot 83/81 for 164 and 22nd place, while Korey Hanson shot 87 both rounds for a 174 to finish 28th.  Additionally, for ALC, Matthew Henson shot 92/99 for 191 to finish 30th and Hayden Halbert shot 103/101 to shoot 204 to finish 32nd.

This was a pretty good year for the ALC Golf Team. They had the lowest individual score with Aaron Minor shooting a 67 at Battlefield golf course and the lowest team score ever with a 308 shot at Stonecrest in the fall. All of the freshmen golfers have improved their game considerably over the year.
