We award the Male Athlete of the Week honor to basketball player Blake Smith.
The athletic 6’3 junior from Manchester, Ky. had an exceptional season. Smith finished the year averaging 20.9 ppg, while connecting on 52 % from the floor and 35% from long distance. He also sank 72% from the free throw line. Additionally, he added 6 rebounds, 1.7 assists and finished second on the club in both steals and blocks.
His season high was 36 points, achieved on December 4th against Cincinnati Christian University, while his rebounding high was 10 (on three occasions) and assist high was 7.
For his efforts, he was just selected as an NAIA First Team All-American and also was the leading vote-getter and selected to the NCCAA Mid-East Region First Team All-Region. He was also named First Team All-Conference by the NAIA’s River States Conference.
