Point Lookout, MO:  The Alice Lloyd College Cross Country Team saw their hard work pay off as two runners were named to the prestigious NCCAA DII Women’s All- American Team and one was named to the NCCAA DII Men’s All- American Team. Only the top five finishers in the NCCAA National Cross Country Tournament receive this award, so only the absolute best-of-the-best are honored.

For the Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles, senior Brittney Buttrey and junior Kacey Troutt were two of the five recipients. Buttrey, a native of Isom (KY), finished 4th at the nationals, running the 5K course (3.1 miles) in a school record time of 20:36. Troutt, a junior from Whitesburg (KY), finished 5th in a time of 20:51, despite dealing with a leg injury for the past three weeks. With the award, they become the first two runners in women’s history to be so honored.

On the men’s side, junior Ryan Morris, a native of Lee (VA), finished 5th in the 8K course (5 miles) in a time of 28:22. Morris previously shattered the school record when he posted a time of 27:44 in the River States Conference meet.  With the award, he becomes the first male runner in school history to be so honored.
