We award the Male Athlete of the Week honor to Lee, Virginia, native junior cross country runner Ryan Morris., as well as Harlan, Kentucky, freshman Alex Lewis.
In the challenging Run for the Water Barrel Race at Winchester (KY) with 27 total runners, the junior Morris led the team, finishing the 5 mile race in a 2nd place time of 29:32 while Lewis finished in 9th place in 32:16: this helped the squad finish as runner-up. On Saturday in the competitive Rio Grande University race featuring 44 runners, Morris blazed the trail in a personal best 28:40, to earn 7th place. Lewis almost broke 30:00 as well as he crossed in a time of 30:07 to earn 14th position. The club finished in fourth place on the day.
