Pippa Passes, KY: On Tuesday, September 11th, the Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles volleyball team hosted the Midway University Eagles. Below is a summary of the contest.

In the opening set, the two squads battled before Midway pulled away from a 16-13 advantage down the stretch to win 25-16.

The visitors looked solid in set 2 and earned a commanding 25-11 victory.

In set 3, ALC played with fire in their eyes and sprinted to a quick 15-8 lead before MU roared back to tie the score at 16 apiece. ALC then crept ahead and managed to hold on for the 25-22 win.

In set 4, the guests led from start to finish. They built a big lead only to watch the home club make a run. However, Midway finished off the contest 25-16.

On the day for the hosts, junior Alexis Napier led the club in kills with 6 while junior Samantha Sturgill led the way in assists (8) and aces (3). Junior Lindsey Perkins and freshman Sarah Howard led the night in digs (9) and junior Haley Smith was just behind with 7.

The Lady Eagles (3-5) return to action this weekend when they travel to Berea to face the Lady Mountaineers at 6:00 pm. They follow that up with a contest Sunday at Miami-Middletown at 2:00 pm.
