JACKSON, Mississippi – The NCCAA Mideast Region has just announced the All-Regional softball teams for 2018. Alice Lloyd College placed two players on the elite squad.

The voting was conducted by the regional head coaches, and they could not select their own players. For the Eagles, first baseman Samantha Sturgill and center fielder Jada Estep were chosen All-Mideast Region for their outstanding play.

Sturgill, a sophomore and native of Big Stone Gap, Virginia, batted .381, carried a .583 slugging percentage, and a .435 on-base percentage. She led the squad with 18 runs and 12 doubles while adding 11 RBI’s. She also smacked 1 home run.

Estep, a freshman and native of Hyden, Kentucky, batted a sparkling .429 while carrying a .587 slugging percentage and a .446 on-base percentage. She also scored 13 runs, added 10 RBI’s and smacked 1 home run.
