Jada Estep & McKenzie Brewer
We divide the Eagles Female Student-Athlete of the Week honor between freshman softball players Jada Estep and McKenzie Brewer.
The squad split a double-header with Miami-Hamilton before spring break and the duo had a major impact on both contests.
In the first game, the Lady Eagles overcame a 10-2 deficit to pull out a stunning 11-10 victory. Brewer, a native of Mooresburg, Tennessee, finished 4-4 from the plate with 2 RBI’s and 2 scored runs. She also stole a base. Estep, a native of Hyden, Kentucky, went 2-4 from the plate and scored a run.
In game two, a nail-biting 9-8 defeat that went extra innings, Brewer went 1-5 from the plate and scored a run while Estep went 3-4 with 1 RBI and 1 run scored.
On the day, Brewer batted .555 (5-9) with 2 RBI’s, 3 scored runs, and 1 stolen base. Estep batted .625 (5-8) with 1 RBI and 2 runs scored.
