Pippa Passes, KY. –  The Alice Lloyd College Eagles hosted NCAA DIII opponent, Berea College, in a doubleheader.

GAME 1
BC – 2 | ALC – 1

In game one, the Mountaineers earned the victory in a pitcher’s duel.

Neither club scored until the fourth inning when BC plated 1 run. The Eagles answered in the bottom half with a run of their own to tie the score as Chance Cornett reached base with a single and later scored on Garrett Gay’s sacrifice fly.

The Mountaineers responded with the go-ahead run one inning later and were able to make it hold up for the win.

ALC was outhit 10-3, but hurt themselves with 3 errors. Peyton Buford and Juan Lander added a double and single respectively.

Jake Weaver suffered the loss on the mound. He went the distance, allowing 10 hits and 2 runs (1 earned). He walked 2 and struck out 4 batters.

Mike Smither earned the win allowing 1 runs and 3 hits over five innings.

GAME 2
BC – 5 | ALC – 1

In game two, BC rode the long distance ball to earn the late victory.

The hosts took the lead in the bottom of the third when Bristol McGee knocked a single. Two batters later, Austyn Turner drove him in with a hit of his own.

The Mountaineers tied the game in the fifth inning, then exploded with 3 big runs in the sixth to seal the game. They were assisted by some critical errors and a blast over the left field wall.

ALC was outhit 7-5. They were led by Chance Cornett and Hayden Martin, each with a double. TC Eads pitched the final three innings to earn the victory. Broderick Moore suffered the tough loss, allowing 3 runs in 5 innings while striking out 3 batters.
