Sevierville, TN: The Alice Lloyd College Eagles baseball squad journeyed to Sevierville, Tennessee over spring break for a four-game series on a neutral field against the Hiwassee Tigers and the Johnson University Royals. The Eagles played perhaps their poorest games of the season on Monday as they dropped decisions to each club before bouncing back Tuesday with impressive victories against the same opponents. Below are recaps of each game.
March 12
Game 1

Alice Lloyd watched the Tigers put up fifteen runs in the second inning as they never were in contention.
Hiwassee pounded six extra-base hits, including a home-run, enroot to achieving an 18-5 hitting advantage. Chance Cornett was the lone bright spot for the Eagles as he went 2-3 at the plate and had 2 RBI’s.
Zach Roberts earned the pitching victory while Dylyn Brown suffered the loss.
Game 2
Johnson – 9 | ALC – 0

The Royals spread nine runs over the first four innings to grab the victory.
Johnson outhit ALC 9-5 as both Chance Cornett and Bristol McGee paced the Eagles with 2 hits each while Cornett laced a double. Unfortunately, they were left stranded on base.
Chase White earned the pitching victory while Ethan Osborne suffered the loss.
March 13
Game 1

Alice Lloyd looked like a completely different squad from 24 hours earlier as they earned the big win.
In a pitching battle, neither club scored until the Tigers broke through with two runs in the top of the fourth, ALC answered in the same inning as Dalton Cornett and Chance Cornett each smacked hits. Both were driven in on two sacrifice flies.
The tie-break blast came one inning later as Garrett Gay opened the fifth with a home-run to give the Eagles a 3-2 lead. From there, ALC pitcher Jake Weaver slammed the door shut as he closed the contest in the victory column. He ended up tossing a complete game 4 hitter, striking out 3, and giving up just 1 earned run. Cameron Alday suffered the loss despite throwing a 4 hitter of his own. Dalton Cornett finished with 2 hits.
Game 2

Once again, the Eagles looked like a different club from the one that played the previous day as they won in convincing fashion.
In this contest, the men from Caney Creek scored quickly and often. They started on a good note in the first as Dalton Cornett singled and Chance Cornett cleared the bases with a blast to left field.
One inning later, Alice Lloyd received two doubles, two singles, and a wild pitch to plate four more runs; suddenly they led 6-0 heading into the third.
The Royals answered with three runs of their own in the inning and were beginning to think comeback. However, Eagle hurler Karson Glancy refused to cooperate as he allowed only two hits over the final four innings, and saw his buddies add insurance runs in both the fifth and sixth innings to ice the contest.
The victors won the hitting battle 13-5 as Chance Cornett continued his torrid hitting going 3-3 with 2 RBI’s. Dalton Cornett, Gavan Rupe, Garrett Gay, and Peyton Buford all smacked 2 hits, and the squad had 3 doubles in addition to Cornett’s homer.
On the mound, Glancy finished with a 5 hitter while striking out 3 and allowing just 2 earned runs in the complete-game victory. Griffin Tate suffered the loss.
