Miranda Wilson

We award this week’s Eagles Female Student-Athlete of the Week honor to standout Miranda Wilson for leading her squad to two more conference victories.

For the second time this year, the Alice Lloyd College senior also earned River States Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week accolades. The latest honor comes for her part in two wins Jan. 8-14.

Wilson, a 5-7 guard from Corbin, Kentucky, started off with 12 points, 10 assists, six rebounds and three steals in a 77-71 win over Midway. She made 3 of 4 from deep in that one. Wilson then had 21 points and added seven rebounds, two assists and two steals in a 74-63 win at Asbury. Wilson poured in five more treys in seven attempts to cap off the week.

On the week, she averaged 16.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 6.0 assists in two conference victories last week. She made 10 of 18 field goals, which included a very hot 8 for 11 from beyond the arc for 73-percent shooting.

Alice Lloyd is now 12-2 overall, 7-1 RSC to lead the RSC West Division. The Eagles were scheduled to square off at No. 21 Rio Grande (19-1, 7-0 RSC) in a matchup of division leaders on Jan. 16 before it was postponed due to weather. They return to the hardwood on Thursday when they journey to Grayson to battle Kentucky Christian University at 6:00 pm.
