Kayla WilsonWe award the first Eagles Female Student-Athlete of the Week honor for 2018 to standout senior guard Kayla Wilson

Wilson, a native of Corbin, Kentucky, was her steady self in leading her club to a split on the road in two River States Conference matchups.

In the big 78-67 win at Ohio Christian University on Tuesday, she finished with 17 points on 6-9 field goals (4-5 trifectas) and added 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals. In the 91-76 defeat at the hands of Indiana University- East (Ranked #12 in NAIA DII), she once more led her club with 18 points on 7-14 field goals (3-5 trifectas). She added 3 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block.

For the week, she averaged 18 points while shooting 56.5% from the floor (70% from three-point range), 5 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game.  She has helped lead her club to a 10-2 record and they are currently in first place in the Western Division of the River States Conference at 5-1. They are also ranked 7th in the nation in the latest NCCAA poll.
