Pippa Passes, KY:  Four players reached double figures to propel the home-standing Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles to an impressive 76-61 conference victory over the West Virginia University Tech Lady Golden Bears. The matchup took place Tuesday, January 23.

In the opening quarter, ALC would get eight quick points from freshman guard Haley Hall and roar out to a 15-4 lead with 4:17 on the clock. WV Tech then settled down and closed the period on a 12-4 run to slice the score at the horn to 19-16.

In the second quarter,  the Golden Bears would keep the score tight, but Lady Eagle senior guard Kayla Wilson scored five late points and helped give her club a 39-34 lead at intermission.

As the third period began, Alice Lloyd would maintain their cushion. They would maintain an advantage from 7-12 points most of the way, and the club would settle for a 55-45 advantage at periods end.

In the last quarter, both senior guard Miranda Wilson and freshman center Alexandria Clifton would get in on the act as well, as their club never permitted the contest to get closer than 10 points the remainder of the night.

For River States Conference West Division-leading Alice Lloyd (14-3; 8-2 RSC), Clifton led an impressive team effort with her double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds. She added 3 blocks and 2 steals.

Miranda Wilson and Hall were right behind with 15 points apiece. Wilson added 7 rebounds, 8 assists, and 1 steal and Hall added 6 boards of her own. Kayla Wilson contributed 13 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals

Alice Lloyd finished shooting 38.6% (27-70) from the field and a solid 44% (11-25) from long range. They connected on just 66.6% (12-18) from the foul line. They also added 44 rebounds, 16 assists, and 6 steals.

WV Tech (11-11; 6-4 RSC) was led by Alexandra Combs with 17 points. Her club finished shooting 36.5% (23-63) from the floor and just 16.7% (3-18) from behind the arc. They shot 75% (12-16) from the foul line. They also added 37 rebound, 6 assists, and 5 steals.

 ALC, ranked #8 this week nationally by the NCCAA, returns to conference action this week on Thursday, January 25 with a 5:30 pm matchup against Carlow University.  Finally, they close out the week on Saturday, January 27 when they face Point Park University at 1:00 pm.
