Alice Lloyd College has been ranked number one in the nation by U.S. News and World Report for student selectivity. The recognition comes as a result of ALC’s impressive acceptance rate of 4% for the 2016-2017 academic year.

Located in the mountains of Appalachia, Alice Lloyd College has maintained, since its inception, a resilient mission of serving the region by educating Appalachian people for positions of leadership. To effectively fulfill the mission of ALC, which has been done for nearly one hundred years, the College recruits select students from a 108 county service area that spans the states of Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. In 2016 ALC had 6,337 applications and admitted 262.
