We award the Eagles Male Athlete of the Week honor to basketball player Timmy Dalton and to the entire Men’s Cross Country squad.

Dalton, a native of Louisa (Ky.) helped lead the Eagles to three victories this week.

The guard scored 20 points (8-16 FG)  and added 2 rebounds and 2 assists in the 113-96 win over Kentucky Christian University, then exploded for 38 points (14-21 FG), 15 rebounds, and 2 assists in a 98-81 victory over Milligan College. He closed out the week with 15 points (7-11 FG), 4 rebounds, and 4 assists at Welch College in a 93-57 win. On the week, Dalton averaged 24.3 points, 7 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game.

For his outstanding effort, the freshman was selected as the NCCAA DI National Student-Athlete of the Week as well as the River States Conference Player of the Week.

The Men’s Cross Country squad made history over the weekend. In the NCCAA DII National Championships held in Jackson, Mississippi, the Eagle runners team finished in 3rd place. Each runner ran a personal best in the meet, which catapulted the club to the winner’s podium. Just as their female counterparts, the squad returns their entire roster next season.
