Pippa Passes, KY: The Alice Lloyd College got an impressive 38 points from freshman guard Timmy Dalton  and outscored the visiting Milligan Buffaloes 59-43 in the second half to earn a convincing 98-81 victory last night.

From the tipoff, the visitors jumped out to a quick 8-2 lead before the hosts settled down to tie things at 11. MC then went on a huge 18-5 run over the next seven minutes to double the score (26-13) at the 9:23 mark.

The Eagles then began to chip away at the deficit and methodically get themselves back in contention. When big senior center Jake Allen found the bottom of the hoop on a nice post move, he gave ALC a 39-38 lead heading into intermission.

In the second half, it would be Alice Lloyd’s chance to make a run. Sparked by 10 points from Dalton, and strong play from both Allen  and sophomore guard Blake Smith, the hosts outscored the Buffs 22-9 in less than six minutes to spurt ahead 61-47. The Eagles would stretch their lead out to as much as twenty, and were never seriously threatened again.
