Eagles golfers competed in the River States Conference Fall Preview Tournament at Lassing Pointe Golf Course in Union, Kentucky. It rained on and off during the tournament, and the course was very soft, and played very easy. The format for the tournament was 54 holes played in two days, 27 holes per day.

Eagles golfers had their best 3 round tournament ever, shooting 320/315/315 for a 950 total, beating the previous best of last year’s Fall Preview by 24 strokes. Jared Albright shot 78/77/74 for a three round total of 229 to stand alone in 25th place, 5 shots out of the top 10, which will get all conference awards following the conference tournament in April. Aaron Minor shot 81/80/76 for 237 and tied for 33rd, Reece Ison shot 81/75/85 for 241 to tie for 45th, Tyler Brewer shot 82/84/80 for 246 to stand alone in 51st place and Isaiah Penley shot 80/83/94 for 257 to stand alone in 55th place of 58 players.

The tournament champions were IU East, with rounds of 287/293/306 for 886 to defeat Asbury by 6 shots. The medalist for the tournament was Tyler Pearson of IU East, who shot rounds of 69/72/72 for an even par total of 213 on the par 71 course, defeating Matthew McCurry of Asbury by 3 shots. These results are superior results for the conference. Our conference has improved quite a bit this year. Eagles golfers team score was good for 10th place among the 11 teams. Results of the tournament are listed here.

Our next tournament is the Work College Challenge at Stonecrest Golf Course in Prestonsburg, KY on October 28th.
