We award the Male Athlete of the Week honor to freshman cross country runner Jacob VanHook.
In the challenging Rio Grande Patty Forgey Invitational, VanHook, a native of London, Kentucky, led the Eagles in the 8K (5 miles). Despite the hot and humid race conditions which caused many runners to pull out of the meet, he crossed the line in his season-best time of 35:52. This was almost a three minutes improvement from the previous week.
