PIPPA PASSES, KY: The Alice Lloyd College volleyball team hosted Crown College on Tuesday. When the last ball had been spiked, the Eagles had earned the convincing three game sweep, and with it, their first win of the season.

ALC was coming off of a disappointing five game setback to the visiting Hiwassee College Tigers last Friday that went down to the wire. Due to the fact that Crown had swept the Tigers on the road earlier this season, the matchup looked to be a difficult one.

However, in the opening set, the hosts jumped ahead quickly. Crown showed fight as they chipped away at the lead late, but the Eagles prevailed 25-19.

In Game 2, the hosts once more sprinted ahead and maintained a cushion until the game ended at 25-15.

Knowing one more match was needed to seal the deal, ALC played solid ball and never allowed the guests to stay close. When the dust settled, they had ridden their momentum to a commanding 25-11 victory.

ALC returns home this Saturday as they face the NCCAA’S seventh ranked team, Johnson University. The match gets underway at 3pm.
