ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. — Six men’s teams and seven women’s teams traveled to Elizabethtown, KY for the River States Conference Men’s & Women’s Tennis Championships April 28-29. The tournament began Friday, April 28 with the women’s matches at 8 a.m. and the first men’s matches at 11 a.m.

The Lady Eagles battled a very strong, third-seeded Indiana University East squad before falling. Despite the fact that ALC hung tough for the match, East played one of their best games in earning the win. In men’s play, ALC would face Indiana University Southeast, who was also the third seed. Again, the Eagles would put up a spirited battle before succumbing. Both East and Southeast would reach the championship match before falling to eventual winner Asbury University.

At the awards ceremony, senior Lady Eagle, Peyton Brown, was awarded RSC Comeback Player of the Year. Peyton broke her ankle during her freshman year and was unable to compete. This year, Peyton was able to compete and was a valuable member of the Lady Eagles team.

Both of the Eagles squads are young and showed great promise this season. We anticipate each club showing continued improvement next year.
