Cincinnati, OH – The Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles were their own worst enemy over the weekend in a four game series with NCCAA opponent, Cincinnati Clermont.

Game one on Saturday saw the visitor’s fall 12-8.

Alice Lloyd captured the lead in the first inning but the Eagles lost due to giving up 10 unearned runs.

ALC scored three runs in the fourth inning driven by a single by Rachel Cooper and a triple by Madison Haymaker. The ladies battled back but were in just too deep of a hole to climb out.

Madison Taber earned the win for University of Cincinnati-Clermont. She pitched seven innings, giving up eight runs, 16 hits, striking out eight, and walking zero.

Allison Sheppard took the loss for. She tossed six innings, surrendering 12 runs, ten hits, and striking out four.

The Eagles collected 16 hits. Catherine Webb, Samantha Sturgill, Elizabeth Prater, Haymaker, Cooper, and Laura Green each collected multiple hits while Sturgill and Webb each managed three hits to lead the club.

University of Cincinnati- Clermont had ten hits in the game.

In game two, Alice Lloyd’s effort to come back from a five run deficit in the fifth inning came up just short, as they fell 8-6.

 ALC scored three runs in the failed comeback on an error in the sixth, a single by Samantha Strugill in the seventh, and a stolen base in the seventh.

Regan Inlow earned the win for Clermont. She went seven innings, giving up six runs, ten hits, striking out two, and walking zero.

Catherine Webb took the loss for Alice Lloyd. She pitched six innings, surrendering eight runs, 11 hits, and striking out seven.

The Eagles collected ten hits. Elizabeth Prater, Rachel Cooper, and Laura Green each collected two hits while Cooper led with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with five stolen bases.

Cincinnati- had 11 hits in the game.

Game three on Sunday was a pitching battle, but the guests suffered a 2-0 loss. University of Cincinnati- Clermont took the lead on a single in the second inning.

Madison Taber earned the win for University of Cincinnati- Clermont. She threw seven innings, allowing zero runs, one hit, striking out six, and walking zero. Catherine Webb took the hard-luck loss for Alice Lloyd. She tossed six innings, surrendering two runs, six hits, striking out one, and walking zero.

Rachel Cooper led the Eagles with one hit in three at bats.

In the series finale, Alice Lloyd fell 6-2 on Sunday.

The Eagles captured the lead in the second inning as Emlee Adams doubled on the first pitch of the at bat in the second inning, scoring one run. However, UC Clermont took the lead for good with four runs in the third inning.

Regan Inlow earned the win for University of Cincinnati- Clermont. She threw seven innings, surrendering two runs, nine hits, striking out four, and walking one.

Allison Sheppard took the loss. She pitched six innings, surrendering six runs, ten hits, and striking out four.

The Eagles collected nine hits. Sheppard and Madisson Minks both had three hits while Adams swatted two.

Clermont had ten hits in the game.
