Midway, KY:  The Alice Lloyd College Eagles traveled to Midway to face the Midway University Eagles in a doubleheader on Friday.

In game one, the visitors watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 7-0 loss.

Midway took an early lead in the first inning.  Looking to start a rally, ALC’s Aly Webb had a solid hit in the second but was left stranded on base.

Allison Shepherd started the game for Alice Lloyd. She pitched three and a third innings, giving up five runs, three hits, and striking out one.

Tiffany Wickline started the game for MU. She tossed six innings, giving up zero runs, two hits, striking out 13, and walking one.

Abby Flaig earned the win as she went one inning, surrendering zero runs, two hits, striking out one, and walking zero.

Webb took the loss for the visiting Eagles. She pitched two and two-thirds innings, surrendering two runs, two hits, and walking one. Webb led Alice Lloyd with two hits in three at-bats.

In game two, the hosts steadily pulled away to win 9-1.

The game remained tight until the third when the hosts registered five runs on the strength of two singles and a double. Emily McGlothin earned the win for Midway. She went five innings, giving up one run, five hits, striking out five, and walking zero.  

Allison Shepherd took the loss for ALC. She tossed three innings, giving up four runs, eight hits, and walking zero.

Alexis Napier, Webb, Emlee Adams, Madisson Minks, and Rachel Cooper each managed one hit to lead Alice Lloyd College Eagles while Midway collected 11 hits.
