The ALC Eagles hosted Johnson University in a three-game series over the weekend. In game 1 on Saturday, the hosts received a strong pitching performance to win 3-2.

Johnson University took an early lead in the first inning when a run scored on a single

In the second, the Eagles captured the lead for good fueled by a double from Garret Gay and a single by Hayden Martin.  Later, Ryan Loggins would add an insurance run with a single of his own.

Levi Martin earned the win for Eagles with a solid performance. He went seven innings, allowing two runs, six hits, striking out four, and walking just one.

Max McColg took the loss for Johnson University. He tossed six innings, surrendering three runs, six hits, striking out nine, and walking one.

In game two, the visitors evened things up and earned a solid 10-1 victory on Sunday.

This time, ALC took an early lead in the first inning. Andrew Flynn drove in one when he doubled in the first inning.

The lead held up until JU evened things up at 1 in the top of the third inning.  The visitors then took the lead for good with four runs in the fourth inning, and Alice Lloyd would not threaten again

Sam Killion earned the win for Johnson University. He threw four innings, surrendering one run, four hits, striking out one, and walking one.

Chase Wozniak took the loss for Eagles. He went three and a third innings, surrendering five runs, seven hits, and striking out one.

ALC had seven hits in the game. Austyn Turner and Flynn both collected two hits for the Eagles. Johnson collected 12 hits.

In the tie-breaker game of the series, ALC would fall behind, make a gritty comeback to tie 5-5, but eventually succumb 7-5.

The visitors exploded in the second inning and would push their run tally to five.

The host Eagles refused to roll over and would eventually score four runs on a single by Alan Silva in the third, a single by Andrew Flynn in the third, and a hit by Newley Burton in the third. Later, in the sixth, Alex White smacked a single to drive in the tying run.

ALC  was right in it until Johnson University singled in the seventh inning to score two runs and break the tie. Unfortunately, the home team ran out of steam and was unable to mount another comeback.

Bailey Musick started the game for Johnson University. He went three innings, giving up four runs, and five hits. Waldo Odens Jr. earned the win for JU. He pitched one and two-thirds innings, giving up zero runs, zero hits, and walking zero.

Broderick Moore took the loss for Eagles. He tossed seven innings, surrendering seven runs, ten hits, and striking out two.

 Burton led the team with two runs batted in. Johnson University collected ten hits.
