It is an exciting time in Pippa Passes and one of the sure signs that spring is nearby is that Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles softball season is here again! Our 2017 softball team is back out on the diamond and the club is very excited to face their upcoming competitors. This is a very dedicated group, and the club has already put in a lot of hard work and field time, even when the weather hasn’t always cooperated.

There are three seniors on the team this year that Head Coach Nathan Hall is confident will be great leaders:

#19 Aly Webb
#3 Hayley Short
#33 Meghan Herald

When asked about his outlook for this year’s squad, Coach Hall had this to say about his team:“I’m excited about our potential this year, as we enter the new season, even more than any year since I’ve been a part of this team. Our club has a totally different look in comparison to previous squads. Even though we may be young, this group of ladies is extremely talented and hard working. We are solid in all aspects of the game, and I feel our hitting should be the most powerful than it’s ever been. We all are eagerly anticipating a very successful season, and can’t wait to test ourselves against solid competition.”

The group opens regular season on Friday, February 17th as they play host to the Cincinnati Christian Lady Eagles in a doubleheader. The first pitch is scheduled for 1:00 pm

Everyone on campus would like to wish these ladies the best of luck, and we cannot wait to see how the season goes! Everyone is encouraged to come out to their games to cheer them on to victory!
