PIPPA PASSES, KY –  The Alice Lloyd Eagles battled the Cincinnati Christian Eagles in a big River States match-up Tuesday. The hosts jumped out to an early lead only to see the visitors race back and pull ahead for the 74-61 victory.

In the first twenty minutes,  ALC opened up well and controlled the tempo as junior forward Jake Allen hit several early buckets. When sophomore forward Simon Christon drained a 22 footer with 9:40 remaining, Alice Lloyd led 24-19 with 9:40 remaining. However, over the next six minutes, the guests went on an 18-2 spurt to roar ahead 37-26. After one full half of action, CCU held a 44-36 lead.

In the second half, the home club battled back and would get within 53-52 following two free throws from sophomore guard Ryan House. Unfortunately, the visitors rode the play of forward Nick Seibert and pulled ahead once more. The home club would not get closer than five the rest of the way.

For ALC (11-18; 7-10 RSC), Allen and Blake Smith each tossed in 12 points. Junior guard Austin Crisp and freshman forward Ian Lee chipped in with 11 and 10 points respectively. Crisp led in assists with 6 and in rebounds with 7.

On the night, Alice Lloyd shot 31.8% (21-66) from the field and 35 % (7-20) from long range. They were also 66.7% (12-18) from the charity stripe. Additionally, they registered 40 rebounds, 10 assists, and 6 steals.

CCU (13-16; 10-7 RSC) was led by Siebert’s game-high 20 points. His club connected on 40% (26-65) from the field and 32.1% (9-28) from long range. They sank 76.5% (13-17) from the charity line and also had 43 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals.

The Eagles close out the regular season this Saturday when they host the Indiana University Kokomo Cougars in a game that will determine the upcoming tournament seeding. Tip-off is set for 3:00 pm.
