Owensboro, KY – The Alice Lloyd Eagles battled the home-standing Brescia University Bearcats in a big River States matchup Saturday in Owensboro. The hosts jumped out to an early lead and held it to defeat the Eagles 84-75.

In the first twenty minutes, Brescia opened well and controlled the contest. After one full half of action, the hosts held a solid lead, 45-32.

In the second half, the visitors rode the play of junior guard Austin Crisp, junior forward Jake Allen and sophomore forward Sean Ross to get back in contention. Unfortunately, Brescia made the big plays down the stretch and pulled away for the victory.

For ALC (11-17; 7-9 RSC), Crisp led the way with 17 points. He was joined in double figures by Allen and Ross, each with 15 points. Allen led in assists with 4 while Ross was the rebounding leader with 6. Sophomore guard Ryan House contributed 11 points.

On the night, Alice Lloyd shot 49.2% (31-63) from the field and 37.5 % (6-16) from long range. They were also 57.3% (7-12) from the charity stripe. Additionally, they registered 26 rebounds, 9 assists, and 8 steals.

BU (11-15; 8-8 RSC) was led by Dillon Gerald’s game-high 27 points. His club connected on 49.2% (30-61) from the field and 42.9% (9-21) from long range. They sank 68.2% (15-22) from the charity line and also had 31 rebounds, 16 assists, and 7 steals.

The Eagles return to action this Tuesday when they travel home to face Cincinnati Christian in an important River States Conference contest. Tip-off is set for 8:00 pm and they will have senior night.
