Wilmore, KY: The Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles traveled to Wilmore to face the home standing Asbury Lady Eagles on Thursday. When the final horn sounded, the home team had pulled out a 75-56 victory.

Forced for the second time in a week to play without the services of leading scorer Amber Shepherd due to a family emergency, the Lady Eagles still got off to a good start.  The girls from Caney battled hard in the first quarter. Paced by five points from sophomore forward India Hairston-James they only trailed 15-14 after the first stanza.

In the second stanza, the host Eagles rode the hot shooting of guard Brittany Warren. They would outscore ALC 19-8 and go into intermission with a 34-22 advantage.

In the third quarter, the home club would score the first 8 points to quickly leap ahead by twenty (42-22). They would maintain this margin throughout the half as the visiting Eagles would get no closer than sixteen the rest of the way.

For ALC (6-7; 2-5 RSC), Hairston-James and freshman forward Jayla Spurlock tied for team honors with 14 points each while junior forward Sara Robinson added 10.  Hairston-James and Robinson led in rebounding with 7 apiece. Junior guard Miranda Wilson handed out 3 assists while Spurlock picked off 3 steals.

Alice Lloyd shot 30.4% (21-69) from the field and 25.9 % (7-27) from long range. They were also cold from the charity line, draining 50% (7-14). Additionally, they registered 37 rebounds, 8 steals, 9 assists, and 3 blocks.

Asbury (8-11; 3-5 RSC) was led by Warren with 24. Her club connected on 48.2% (27-56) from the field and 33.3 % (8-24) from long range. They sank 60% (12-20) from the charity line and also had 47 rebounds, 10 steals, 15 assists, and 4 blocks.

The Lady Eagles return home on Saturday when they face the Midway University Eagles at 2:00 pm.
