Pippa Passes, KY: The Alice Lloyd Eagles sprinted out to a quick advantage and won going away against the visiting Midway University Eagles 97-62. The River States Conference matchup was played Saturday afternoon.

In the opening half, the hosts came out looking to feed junior forward Jake Allen who did not disappoint. He quickly scored eight of the club’s first ten points to propel his team to a 10-5 advantage. The Eagles would follow Allen’s lead on offense and combine that with solid defense to go on a massive run. At intermission, the home fans saw their boys leading 48-18.

In the second half, backed by continued solid play, the Eagles would see their lead expand to forty points (72-32) with just over ten minutes remaining. Coach JR Hammond was able to freely substitute as every squad member registered at least 11 minutes of action.

For ALC (5-13; 3-5 RSC), Allen led all scorers with 15 points in just fifteen minutes of action. Senior forward Mason Pack and junior guard Austin Crisp each chipped in with 11. Seven other players also scored between 9-6 points apiece. Sophomore forward Sean Ross led the way with 6 rebounds while Crisp handed out 5 assists.  The victorious club connected on 54.3% (38-70) from the field and a solid 41.4% (12-29) from long range. From the foul line, they hit 69.2% (9-13). They also had 49 rebounds, 8 steals, and 12 assists.

Midway University (2-15; 2-7 RSC) was led by Khalil Britt with 14. His club connected on 35% (21-30) from the field and 35% (7-20) from long range. They sank 72.2% (13-18) from the charity stripe. They also had 21 rebounds, 6 steals, and 12 assists.

The Eagles return back to action this week in an important River States Conference tilt on Tuesday the 17th when they face the Rio Grande Red Storm at 8:00 pm.
