Mt. Hope, WV. – The Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles traveled to Mt. Hope, West Virginia along with nine other squads to participate in the NCCAA Division II Mideast Regional Tournament over the weekend. The winner after pool play was completed would receive an automatic bid to the NCCAA National Tournament in Kissimmee, Florida on November 18-19. Below are recaps of each contest.

Game #1: The Lady Eagles began their matchup with the second-seeded team, Grace Christian College, on November 3rd. ALC battled extremely hard, but could not overcome their tough opponents in the three sets played, falling 17-25, 16-25, and 20-25. #15 Lindsay Perkins lead the team in kills and attacks closely followed by #13 Haley Smith. #34 Ariel Williams stepped up, helping her team with multiple assists on the game. In serving the ball the team, as a whole, contributed for many offensive points scored.

Game #2: The Eagles then faced the third-seeded Johnson Bible University squad. Here, they played a series of three challenging sets but dropped the decision 20-25, 15-25, 23-25. #15 Lindsay Perkins led her team by far with the most kills and blocks on the night. #13 Haley Smith was a powerhouse in her serving abilities in all three sets and also led in digs. #34 Ariel Williams again led the team in assists.

Game #3: The ladies closed out the competition against the host squad from Appalachian Bible College where they would play four very close sets. The Eagles battled through a tough match, taking the second set, but ran out of steam and were unable to finish in the end. #15 Lindsay Perkins would take the prize again for the most kills and blocks throughout the match. #13 Haley Smith, #1 Sydney Belcher, and #34 Ariel Williams did a phenomenal job serving, keeping the set scores close. The most assists go to Williams again for the third game while Smith had the most digs.

We are very proud of our volleyball team this year! We would like to congratulate them as they set the school record for wins in a single season .We have enjoyed watching you play this year and we are sure that they will come back even stronger next season.
