Pippa Passes, KY: The Alice Lloyd Volleyball Eagles played host to the Golden Bears of West Virginia Tech Tuesday night, resulting in some exciting volleyball action. Our team may have come up a little short in the end, but they battled and held their own throughout the entire game.

The visitors came out of the gates strong and quickly sprinted to a lead. They kept their momentum the entire way and won the first set 25-8. In set number two, the hosts were a different team as they settled down and played a solid game. The score stood tied at 12, but the Golden Bears closed with a 13-4 run to pull ahead 25-16. In set three, the game remained close once more, but a late flurry allowed WVT to earn the win, 25-16.

As a team, there were numerous players that gave it their all in every set played.  From an individual standpoint, there was an abundance of kills on the night, but #14 Sam Sturgill wins the award for the most. She also led the club with the most points on the night from her serves. #2 Lindsey Perkins was on fire tonight with defensive blocks while #10 Alex Hunter showcased her teamwork skills with the most assists in all of the sets. Lastly, #13 Haley Smith came out with the most digs.

We would like to encourage everyone to come out for the last home game this Saturday as our Lady Eagles look to get back on the winning track in an NCCAA showdown with Appalachia Bible College. Game time is scheduled for 2:00 PM.We all continue to wish the team the best as they approach tournament time. Eagle Nation is always behind you ladies!
