Game 1

ALC-1; MUH-8

The visiting Alice Lloyd College Eagles scattered five hits on Sunday and lost 8-1 to Miami University-Hamilton in a contest played in Hamilton, Ohio.

Miami University pushed across two runs in both the fourth inning and the fifth backed by a string of timely singles.

The Eagles’ sole run of the ballgame came in the sixth inning on a passed ball and reduced the score to 4-1.

Unfortunately, the hosts responded by putting up three big insurance runs in the sixth and held on for the victory.

Justin Smith ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted five innings, walked none, struck out six, and allowed five runs.

Nick Stewart earned the victory on the mound.

Game 2

ALC-7; MUH-10

The Eagles raced out to a solid lead only to see things fall apart in the latter innings as Miami University-Hamilton came back to steal a 10-7 win on Sunday.

The Eagles got on the board in the top of the second. Timmy Sublett got things going for the Eagles with a single. A single by Ryan Loggins was followed by a Josh Antwine single.

The visitors looked to be in control, up 6-1 in the fifth inning behind the pitching of Ryan Lavy. However, the hosts chipped away at the deficit.

Miami Hamilton never surrendered the lead after the sixth inning, scoring seven runs on a two-run error, a home run, a two-run triple, and a pair of singles.

In the seventh, a sacrifice fly by Loggins drove in a run and sparked an Eagles mini- rally. However, Ronnie Saylor struck out to end the threat.

Ryne Loggins led ALC with two RBIs on two hits for the Eagles. He singled in the second and fifth innings.

David Connell recorded the win for Hamilton as he tossed one inning of shutout ball.

Antwine took the loss for the Eagles. He allowed six runs in two-thirds of an inning, walked two and struck out none.
