Eagles fall behind in eighth inning in 11-7 loss

The Eagles lost the ballgame after losing the lead in the eighth inning Friday, March, 18th, as Johnson University grabbed an 11-7 victory in eight innings at Pippa Passes, Ky.

The bottom of the first saw the hosts take an early lead, 3-0. A single by Caleb Mills, scoring Garret Gay started the inning off. The scoreboard lit up again for the Eagles when Ryan Lavy and Mills scored on a two-run single by Timmy Sublett.

The game was never in doubt after the eighth, as Johnson University scored six runs on an RBI single by Burgos.

Austyn Turner racked up two RBIs on two hits for ALC. He doubled in the seventh inning and singled in the eighth inning.

Even though Garrett Crawford allowed seven runs over seven innings he still recorded the victory. He struck out eight, walked three and surrendered 10 hits.

Daniel Burgess took the loss for the Eagles. He lasted 2 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed two runs.

Sixth-inning rally sparks win for the Eagles, 10-2

The Eagles beat Johnson University 10-2 in seven innings on Friday at Pippa Passes, Ky after a six-run explosion in the sixth inning.

After a quick strike from Johnson University, the hosts responded with one run in the second. The Eagles scored on an RBI double by Ronnie Saylor.

The lead stayed with ALC after the third, when they scored one run on an RBI single by Hunter Millsap.

The Eagles piled on two more runs in the bottom of the fourth. A sacrifice fly scored Alex White to start the scoring in the inning. That was followed up by a single, scoring Saylor.

Alice Lloyd scored in the sixth on a two-run double by Ryne Loggins, an RBI single by Wyatt Hamilton, a two-run single by Alan Silva, and an RBI single by Millsap.

Austyn Turner reached base three times. He singled in the fifth inning.

Broderick Moore picked up the win for the Eagles. Moore pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, three hits and four walks while striking out four.

Evan Duriga couldn’t get it done on the mound for Johnson University, taking a loss. He allowed 10 runs in six innings, walked three and struck out three.
