The Alice Lloyd Lady Eagles dropped a disappointing 70-46 conference opener to Indiana University Southeast Grenadiers on Saturday. The contest was played The Grady Nutt Athletic Center.

In the opening quarter, the visitors jumped ahead 18-10 as the hosts stayed within striking distance.

The bottom completely fell out in the second quarter as the Eagles went ice cold. They were outscored 15-3 as they missed many good scoring opportunities. They trailed 33-13 at intermission.

In dire need of a good start to the second half, ALC continued to have a lid on their basket. The Grenadiers scored the first 10 points of the quarter to give themselves a huge advantage. Alice Lloyd outplayed their foes the final fifteen minutes of the contest, but it was too late to mount a major comeback.

For ALC (1-1), they were led by 10 points apiece from senior Megan Jones and junior Amber Shepherd. Sophomore Taylor Arthur chipped in with 9 points and added a game high 11 rebounds.

IUS (1-0) was led by Annie Thomas with 19.
