The Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles battled the 19th ranked Union College Lady Bulldogs on Tuesday in a home matchup. The contest went down to the final horn before the visitors prevailed 64-61.
In the first quarter, the game was nip and tuck. The two squads would battle to a 34-33 ALC lead at the break.
In the second half, the matchup continued to remain close as neither team could get an advantage. The Bulldogs hit some key free throws late to take a three point lead while the hosts saw a key lay-up rim out. The Eagles got a contested shot at the buzzer to tie the game, but it rimmed off as time expired.
For ALC (1-2) Amber Shepherd led all scorers with 24 points. She was followed by Taylor Arthur with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Lydia Nash paced Union (1-0) with 17.
