Eagles Golf held their second annual Alice Lloyd College Invitational golf tournament at Stonecrest Golf Course on Monday, August 24th and Tuesday, August 25th. Six schools participated: University of Pikeville, Thomas More College, West Virginia Tech, Ohio Christian University, Hiwassee College and Alice Lloyd College. The team champions were UPike team A, who shot 297/304 for a two round total of 601. Thomas More College was second with 309/307 for a two round total of 316.

The medalist was UPike’s Will Boyd, who shot 68/75 for a two round total of 143 (-1). Thomas More’s Jimmy Kelley was second with a two round total of 146. Burgess Clark of UPike at 149, Matt Ryan of West Virginia Tech at 153 and Saulomon Lanigan of UPike at 154 rounded out the All-Tournament Team.

Eagles Golfers were led by senior Randall Smith, who shot 81/77 for a 158, tying for 9th of the 36 golfers, which are his best tournament scores. As a team, Eagles were 345/348 to finish 6th of 6. The Eagles Golf team shows a lot of promise this season.

Their next tournament is the Ohio Christian Invitational at Cook’s Creek Golf Course in South Bloomfield, Ohio on September 11th and 12th.
