On Wednesday, August the 12th Alice Lloyd College was honored for the second consecutive year by the Daily Caller as one of “The 17 Best College Values In America”. Also included in the list were prestigious and well-known institutions, such as University of Virginia and the United States Naval Academy.

The Executive Vice President of Alice Lloyd College, Dr. Jim Stepp commented that “the Daily Caller recognition is another reminder of the high national regard for ALC’s unique high-quality academic model. We are blessed with wonderful friends across America who are helping us provide an outstanding character-based education to Appalachian students.”

The Daily Caller ranking emphasizes colleges and universities with strong academics, which are also affordable. Alice Lloyd College charges $0 out of pocket tuition for Appalachian students. All full time students work jobs to develop character and help lower the cost of education.

Today, the college continues to carry on the mission originally established by the founder of the college, Alice Lloyd, which was to educate Appalachian children and do so at little to no cost to them. From the beginnings of the college Mrs. Lloyd proclaimed, “the leaders are here.” With the support of our many friends Alice Lloyd College continues to develop leaders for the Appalachian region.
