image3This past weekend, the Alice Lloyd Eagle’s men’s tennis team hosted their second conference match of the year. This time, their opponents were the IU Southeast Grenadiers. IUS, who is the reigning champion from last season, came to play, but they were pushed hard by the host team.

For the men in royal and white, freshman Kyler ‘Gator’ Hazlett, who was the 5th seed in the match, played very effectively. Hazlett displayed his best match to date, as he won two of his sets before falling short in an intense matchup.

Another notable player who gave an inspired effort was senior Mack Asher. Although Asher was unable to overcome his worthy opponent, he demonstrated a lot of toughness before falling.

The Eagles will be traveling on the road next weekend as they travel to Richmond, Indiana to face IU East. The team will return home to conference play on April 18th, as they round out the regular season against Brescia University.
