The Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles softball team returned home to battle the Brescia University Bearcats in a four game series over the weekend. Due to the rainy weather, the clubs played just one game on Friday before returning Saturday with three. Below are recaps of each game.

 

Friday April 17

Game 1

BU-7; ALC-1

Tori Price

 

The visitors broke open a 1-1 contest by scoring 6 runs in the last inning to pull away.

BU led 1-0 before Tori Price drove in a run for the Lady Eagles in the bottom of the fifth to knot things up. After a scoreless sixth, the visitors would ice the game with 6 crucial runs in the last inning. Price had 2 of the Eagles hits. Brescia had 15 hits compared to 6 for the hosts.

Saturday April 18

Game 1

ALC allowed 7 runs in the second inning to permit BU to pull away.

The Eagles were only outhit 10-7, but hurt themselves with some untimely miscues.

Alice Lloyd’s Megan Jones smacked two hits, including a double, to lead the way.

Game 2

BU-10; ALC-1

Brescia broke open a close game in the fifth inning to earn the victory. Tori Price led the way with 2 hits. Unfortunately, the hosts were only able to muster 3 total runners for the game as BU outhit the Eagles 13-3.

Game 3

BU-8; ALC-0

Brescia’s Shelby Franklin tossed a two hit shutout to help her squad complete the series sweep.

Megan Boswell and Brittany Dalton provided the lone hits for the hosts as BU pounded out 15.
