The Alice Lloyd College Eagles journeyed to Midway, Ky. on Monday to battle the home standing Midway College Eagles in a contest that was previously postponed due to the recent snowstorm. In the end, the hosts prevailed, 88-71. With the loss, Alice Lloyd completes their season.

Playing without leading scorer Carla Booth and forward Sara Robinson, the visiting Eagles found themselves down early. Midway slowly began to build their lead, but ALC battled hard. At intermission, the hosts led by 12 (40-28).

In the second half, MC shot extremely well, but Alice Lloyd refused to go away. Unfortunately, Midway was able to gradually extend their lead by the final buzzer.

For ALC (7-19; 3-11 KIAC), four players reached double figures. Serena Nickell led the way with 18 points on 8-12 field goals. She was joined by Amber Shepard with 15, Morgan Chestnut with 11, and Megan Jones, with 10 points and 3 assists.

Senior Carla McDaniel closed out her career with a team high 6 rebounds, and added 4 points and 2 steals.

 For MC (12-15; 8-7 KIAC), Me’Lisa Martinez and Mckinzie Laswell each had 21 points.

On the night, Alice Lloyd shot 46% from the floor (29-63) including 29.4% from long range (5-17). MC shot 50.7% from the floor (38-75), and 27.8% (5-18) from deep. The visitors hit hit more free-throws (8-11) compared to the hosts (7-9), but Midway won the battle of the boards, 42-28.
